The opportunity
As Area Sales Manager, you will drive market penetration and profitable growth for our Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) Service portfolio. You’ll lead and empower local sales teams, foster customer relationships, and leverage on digital tools to deliver exceptional service and results.
Our Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of GCB and GIS systems for both Transmission (220kV-550kV) and Sub-transmission (60kV-170kV) level, including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, value-added services, troubleshooting, modification, retrofits and replacements.

How you'll make an impact
- Define and execute go-to-market strategies together with local service sales teams, channel partners, and service organizations to drive sustainable order growth
- Lead proactive sales and marketing activities for maintenance and service solutions while optimizing regional pricing strategies and increasing market penetration
- Analyze installed base data, market dynamics, and customer needs to develop sales action plans and grow the maintenance sales pipeline
- Build strong customer and partner relationships, provide consultative support, and enable local service sales teams through product and service knowledge sharing
- Manage the entire service project offer process, from opportunity identification and quotation preparation through contract negotiation and handover to execution
- Utilize digital tools, CRM systems, and sales analytics to ensure data quality, maintain accurate forecasts, and improve customer experience
- Monitor business performance against targets, identify gaps, develop annual order budgets, and implement actions to achieve growth objectives
- Mentor and support service sales teams at Product Service Center and Local Service Unit, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and drive enhancements of sales processes and tools
Your background
- Degree in a technical or commercial discipline
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sector
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering results
- Customer-focused approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse markets and cultures
- Experience with Salesforce, SAP, and other digital sales tools
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated, resilient, and driven to create business opportunities
- Fluent in English; additional languages such as Spanish are a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%
