Aims and purpose of the department
The local quotation engineer provides timely, accurate and competitive technical quotations and costing support to the sales organization, ensuring customer requirements are translated into feasible, profitable offers for customized solutions in the local market.
Main tasks, focus of activities, responsibilities
- Analyze customer RFQs, specifications and drawing to define technical scope, required options and potential deviations or clarifications.

Develop complete cost calculations (material labor, testing, logistics) and price recommendations aligned with margin and pricing guidelines.

Prepare and issue structured quotation documents, including technical offer, commercial conditions, exclusions and validity within agreed lead times.

Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing and production to validate feasibility, lead times, special test and sourcing alternatives for each offer.

Maintain and update quotation tools, templates and cost databases to improve accuracy and speed of future quotation.

Track quotation status, support follow-up with sales, and provide revision or alternatives when requested by customer.
Essential requirements (skills, experience, training, etc.)
Technical and professional:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent technical background.

Solid understanding of the company’s products, configurations and applicable standards, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in cost estimation methods (BOMs, labor times, supplier quotes, standard cost databases) and basic financial concepts (margin, markup, ROI).

Good command of standard office tools and ERP or quotation systems.
Behavior and interpersonal:

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all quotations.

Clear written and verbal communication skills to interact with sales, engineers, suppliers and customers.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple quotation requests under time pressure while meeting agreed deadlines.
