The OSS Distribution team is focused on helping the industry in the transformation to Modern Airline Retailing with Offers and Orders
Purpose of the Role
Contribute to IATA’s industry monitoring and data intelligence activities around Modern Airline Retailing (www.iata.org/retailing) by supporting the assessment, structure, analysis, and visualization of industry data. Working closely with the Manager, Distribution, Certification and Compliance, the intern will help turn data into practical insights, dashboards, reporting tools, and documented approaches that support decision-making and enable more consistent monitoring over time.
Key Responsibilities
Assess relevant data sources for quality, structure, definitions, gaps, and potential use.
Develop analyses that highlight trends, adoption signals, risks, and areas for further review.
Build dashboards, reports, and visuals that make data easier to interpret and use.
Research external data sources, benchmarks, and monitoring approaches.
Document data sources, assumptions, methods, and repeatable processes aligned with the IATA Data Governance policies.
Support work to identify gaps and propose enhancements that help our members better understand their progress, opportunities, and value creation.
Take increasing ownership of selected analysis, reporting, and documentation activities as the internship progresses.
Expected Outcome
By the end of the assignment, the intern will have contributed to a stronger and more structured approach to industry monitoring and data intelligence, including data inventories, quality assessments, analytical frameworks, dashboards, reporting tools, and documented processes that support continuity and future scaling within IATA’s data governance policies.
- Have graduated within the last 12 months.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess data quality, identify trends, and draw practical conclusions from complex information.

Good working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar platforms.

Ability to structure information clearly, document methodologies, and create reusable approaches that support consistency and continuity.

Strong attention to detail, especially in reviewing data sources, definitions, assumptions, and outputs.

Clear communication skills, with the ability to turn analysis into concise insights, dashboards, reports, and presentations.

Curiosity about airline retailing, distribution, payments, industry transformation, and the role of data in monitoring change.

Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across teams and engage constructively with technical and business stakeholders.
