An opportunity has arisen for an RF Engineer to join a specialist R&D team developing next-generation antenna technologies.
This role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on the design, development, testing, and validation of advanced RF and antenna subsystems used in high-performance phased array systems for space and terrestrial applications.
You will contribute to both early-stage demonstrators and industrialised designs intended for scalable production, supporting advanced antenna systems used in demanding operational environments.
You will work closely with RF and antenna design engineers to define, simulate, test, and characterise RF subsystems and antenna structures. The role includes hands-on laboratory work, root cause analysis, and detailed performance validation across a range of development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with RF/Antenna design engineers to define, simulate, test, and characterise RF subsystems and antennas
- Conduct RF testing, measurements, and performance validation of antenna systems and building blocks
- Investigate performance issues and carry out root cause analysis where results deviate from expected outcomes
- Work on both prototype demonstrators and production-ready antenna system designs
- Support development of phased array antenna systems for aerospace and mobile applications
- Document and communicate test results, findings, and technical solutions clearly and accurately
- Collaborate with external test laboratories and manufacturing partners where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of RF testing methodologies and engineering processes
Essential Skills & Experience
- MSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience in RF engineering or RF test/validation environments
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave theory and measurement techniques
- Experience with RF design and testing in Ka, Ku, X, C, and/or S-band systems
- Familiarity with phased array antenna technologies
- Experience using RF simulation and design tools such as HFSS and CST
- Experience working with systems designed for harsh or aerospace environments
- Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Excellent technical documentation and reporting ability
Desirable Skills
- Hands-on RF laboratory testing and system-level measurements experience
- Experience with ADS, MATLAB, and/or Altium Designer
- Exposure to component sourcing and supplier/vendor coordination
- Experience supporting antenna or RF subsystem production with third-party manufacturers
Eligibility
- Swiss or EU citizenship, or valid Swiss work permit required
What’s on Offer
- Opportunity to work on advanced antenna technology
- Hands-on role spanning RF design validation, testing, and system characterisation
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment
- Exposure to both R&D and production-stage development programmes
- Work on high-performance systems for aerospace and communications applications
