WinGD is looking for a
Expert Control-Oriented Modelling (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:
- Create control-oriented models of 2-stroke combustion engines and its components for SiL (software in-the-loop), MiL (model in-the-loop) and HiL (hardware in-the-loop) usage
- Being part of a team supporting the fast and accurate control and diagnostic developments as well as controllers’ pre-calibration by virtual twins (Model Based Development)
- Establish model calibration processes by developing engine data pre-processing and tuning scripts
- Maintenance of the architecture of Engine/Subsystems Models to ensure a consistent integration with the real-time environment of HiL rigs
- Develop and maintain a simulation/testing environment that can support software development from initial concept to certification
- Work together with the project teams that are preparing datasets for the virtual twins or utilising the virtual twins for developments
- Good communicator at a detailed technical level, but also in order to present overall results to management levels
- Be an effective team player, open and cooperative, in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
Requirements:
- MSc in Mechanical, Automation Engineering (or equivalent), with focus on engine controls
- Proven knowledge on reciprocating internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, and basic fluids-dynamics
- Proven knowledge in control-oriented modelling, automation, Linear Control Theory, System Identification and Optimization
- Strong ability to handle/interpret data based on the underlying physical processes
- Experienced in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and its real time toolboxes
- Good knowledge on state-of-the-art Model Based Development methodologies
Familiar with the Verification & Validation process
- Knowledge of using neural networks for modelling purposes is a plus
- Open and flexible
- Good social skills, can work together with experts to find the best fitting solution
- Very fluent in English
- German language skills are considered an advantage
