1. JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Physicist – Clinical Training Instructor delivers advanced clinical and technical training with a strong focus on radiation physics, treatment planning, and system performance. Based at the Genolier Innovation Hub in Switzerland (Vaud canton, Morges area), this role serves as a key educational lead supporting global customers through high-quality, in-person and virtual training programs.
This position combines expert-level instruction, curriculum development, and clinical support to ensure safe, effective, and confident use of Accuray treatment delivery systems. The instructor plays a critical role in translating complex physics concepts into practical clinical application, supporting both new system implementations and ongoing customer development.
The role is approximately 70-80% clinical training and curriculum development and 20–30% clinical support, with regular engagement in global training initiatives, customer onboarding, and key industry events.
Position based in Switzerland (Vaud canton, Morges area). Candidates with the ability to legally work in Switzerland are preferred; a valid Swiss work permit is a plus.
Initial onboarding and training may take place in the United States for up to two weeks, depending on business needs and training requirements.

3. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Training & Education (Physics-Focused)

Deliver advanced, physics-focused training on Accuray systems, including treatment planning, QA processes, and system performance

Lead multi-day training programs at the Genolier Innovation Hub, incorporating lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops

Translate complex radiation physics principles into clinically relevant guidance for physicists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams

Support global training delivery through hybrid models (in-person and virtual)

Contribute to specialized training programs for system upgrades, new technologies, and advanced clinical applications

Represent Accuray at scientific meetings, user groups, and industry events
Curriculum Development & Continuous Improvement

Design, develop, review, and refine physics-driven training content, including treatment planning workflows, system commissioning concepts, and QA methodologies

Ensure training content reflects current clinical best practices, regulatory requirements, and product advancements

Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Support (CAPS), R&D, Product Management, and Marketing to incorporate user insights and emerging technologies into training

Support development of scalable global training pathways, including advanced and expert-level offerings
Customer & Clinical Support

Provide expert-level support on physics-related topics, including system utilization, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization

Support customer go-lives, system upgrades, and complex clinical implementations as needed

Reinforce training effectiveness through post-course engagement, mentoring, and follow-up support

Partner closely with Clinical Support and field teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience
4. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
a. Preferred / Desired

Board-certified or board-eligible Medical Physicist (or equivalent international certification)

Experience in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), SBRT, or advanced motion management techniques (e.g., Synchrony®)

Prior experience in clinical education, training, or academic teaching roles

Familiarity with Accuray platforms (CyberKnife, Radixact) strongly preferred

Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments

Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French) is a plus
b. Required

Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required to effectively deliver training, collaborate cross‑functionally, and support a global customer base

Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Medical Physics or related field
-
Strong clinical expertise in radiation oncology physics, including treatment planning, QA, and workflow integration

Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to teach complex concepts effectively

Strong organizational and project management capabilities

Ability to work collaboratively across global, cross-functional teams

Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety

Ability and willingness to travel internationally (~30%)
