This position is part of the University Research Priority Program (URPP) "Human Reproduction Reloaded". The focus of the Chair is on legal approaches to family diversity, from a gender and human rights perspective. Through the combination of doctrinal and empirical research methods, special attention is directed to the societal implications of existing legal frameworks pertaining to reproduction and family relationships, and the experiences of contemporary unconventional families (eg LGBTQI+ families and families created through assisted reproduction) often deprived of legal recognition and protection.

This position offers the possibility to learn about and contribute to cutting-edge research on human rights, gender and family diversity. It also provides the chance to come into contact and experience interdisciplinarity at a methodological, substantial and personal levels, thus acquiring competences and skills which are transferrable to other fields of law. Moreover, this position does not require fixed office hours and is thus a flexible option to earn a competitive salary.
The selected applicant would start in the period June - August 2026 (to be discussed). The contract will end in December 2026, with a possibility of renewal.
