THE ROLE
At MSC, the Marine Officer plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our global fleet. Acting as a central point of coordination between vessels, shore-based teams, and external stakeholders, the department supports a wide range of marine activities, contributing to operational excellence and the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive professional to join our team and help drive the successful management of our maritime operations.
YOUR IMPACT

Monitor weather conditions of vessels.

Create and insert passage plans in the dedicated system.

Ensure, monitor all day long, passage plans are agreed upon with the Master and updated according to weather forecasts.

Advise on adjusting course and speed to limit vessel rolling/pitching in inclement weather.

Check weather conditions before arrival at port and coordinate with the Master for tugs and mooring arrangements.

Ensure anchoring only in designated areas and avoid in adverse weather conditions.

Coordinate the installation of Shore Tension and Lock Passage with PIC.

Follow-up with PIC in case of damages, incidents, and accidents (claims functions).

YOUR BACKGROUND

Strong understanding of marine operations.

Sea time onboard cargo vessels is a plus

Ability to handle pressure

Critical Thinking: analyzing situations and making informed decisions to ensure safety and efficiency

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Proficient level of English
