Overall Job Purpose :
The team leader’s role is mainly to secure the implementation and improvement of air- and
ocean freight processes across the team. This includes the ability to formulate freight strategy,
continuous improvements of key performance indicators and drive management by objective
methods. To secure best in class procurement and ensure compliance and operational
excellence within the team. Our team leader will drive a team of 6 people in two locations
together with his counterparts and the SGL country management team. Well experienced in all
aspects of complex cargo handling as well as supporting and guiding the team in their daily
tasks and back-up where needed.
Main tasks & Key Responsabilities:

Drive operational excellence in line with intercompany standards

Manage and assign workload and tasks to team members

Oversee strict internal compliance and rules & regulations

Customer service & operational account management
-
Vendor management, selection of core carriers, customs agents and clients

Monitor, train and mentor staff

Solving operational issues, incident handling management

Monitoring and adjusting performance and processes proactively

Maintaining data quality in shipment records, TMS superuser
-
Reporting on shipment status and KPIs (financial, operational and quality)

FOCA security & standards, familiarity with ISO/GDP compliance
Qualifications :
-
Min. 10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding (air- & ocean freight), hands-on
leadership a must -
Educational background in freight forwarding, Swiss VET (CFC)

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Proficiency with forwarding software and IT systems (Microsoft 365 tools, Wisetech an
advantage) -
Solid leadership skills, positive attitude, team player

Outstanding organizational skills

Customer centric attitude, strong commercial approach desirable

Pragmatic problem-solving – hands on vision, fast decision making

Proficiency in French, German and English desirable
