Context and why we are recruiting
To support the launch and delivery of the Hoffmann Programme on Planetary Science for Economic Futures, CNC is recruiting a Specialist, Planetary Futures to help coordinate and operationalize the programme’s global cohort and senior leadership community.
This role will support the day-to-day management of the cohort journey, including community engagement, programme coordination, events support, communications, and stakeholder management. The position will play an important role in ensuring a high-quality cohort experience while supporting collaboration across the Forum ecosystem and external partners.
Reporting line and how is this role embedded in the wider team?
This role will report to CNC’s Lead, Expert Community and will operate across multiple teams in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
The Specialist, Planetary Futures will work closely with initiative teams, operations, communications, and external partners to support community engagement, programme delivery, and knowledge-sharing activities across the initiative.
What will you be responsible for?
Cohort coordination (40%)
Support the application and selection processes and onboarding and engagement of Hoffmann Planetary Leaders across academic and non-profit institutions globally
Coordinate regular communications, community touchpoints, and engagement activities for the cohort
Maintain cohort records, engagement tracking, and programme data through internal systems and Salesforce
Support the implementation of the cohort curriculum, learning journeys, and peer exchange activities
Coordinate logistics and scheduling for cohort meetings, workshops, and virtual convenings
Event and programme support (30%)
Support planning and delivery of annual fellowship gatherings, workshops, and dialogue sessions
Coordinate invitations, briefing materials, speaker preparation, and participant communications
Draft pre-read materials, programme notes, and engagement summaries
Provide logistical and operational support for Forum and non-Forum events linked to the programme
Research and stakeholder engagement support (20%)
Conduct desk research and support mapping exercises related to planetary science, economic futures, and science communication
Support coordination with academic institutions, research partners, and external collaborators
Assist in tracking cohort outputs, collaborations, and impact indicators
Cross-functional collaboration (10%)
Collaborate with communications, events, and initiative teams to support coherent programme delivery and storytelling
Support knowledge-sharing across CNC thematic areas and related Forum communities
What core knowledge, skills and experience are we looking to add to our team?
Domain knowledge and experience
An intellectual background with a university degree or equivalent in sustainability, environmental studies, public policy, economics, international relations, communications, or related field
3+ years of relevant professional experience in programme coordination, community management, events, or stakeholder engagement
Experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives or global communities and international events/convenings
Familiarity with academic, research or fellowship programmes is a plus
Core skills
Experience using CRM systems and collaboration tools (e.g. Salesforce, Slack)
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail
Highly collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a demanding environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and deliver under pressure

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
